Büro weit entfernt vom Flughafenterminal. Abholdienst hat nicht auf Anhieb geklappt - ein Hinweis wo das Rendezvous stattfinden sollte fehlte. Bei der Abgabe gestaltet sich das Auffinden des Büros schwierig (trotz eingebautes GPS) eine bessere Signalisation wäre im Labyrinth der Vielzahl von (Einbahn)-Straßen nötig. Personal nicht übermässig freundlich.

*Avoid Avoid Avoid* rented a car, paid in full, did a quick pass prior to arriving at airport, provided my flight details however after arriving I was left stranded with my family including my 2 month old baby. There was noone on arrival to meet me, called all the numbers several times however I couldn't get to anyone. Don't be fooled by what they say on their website like I did! They do NOT have desk at the airport instate they put pop up box like in the pictures. Please avoid using this company, they might be good elsewhere however in BTS they do not exist!!! I am still trying to get a refund for my booking that I never received the car for! I had to rent a car from alternative car hire place in the airport which was expectedly very expensive.

Avoid at all costs!

Wish I had seen these review before hiring the car.

I was given a different car than what I hired. Then the car broke after I drove to Budapest (showing major mechanical fault - red sign, and car shaking heavily whenever it was switched from Parking to Neutral, Drive - Neutral, or vise-versa). It ruined one precious day of our holiday, cost me additional money in cab fare, fuel, road tax and parking (over £100). Then Avis Bratislava airport held my deposit for over a month - when it was obvious that they had given me a faulty car. I eventually got the deposit back but because they held it for long I got £30 less in currency exchange.

After this they took about $87 from my card (£71.20). When I asked them about it, at first they said it was not them. 2 days later they sent me an invoice for refuelling charge. Even then the amount shown there was $39. Still now they have not explained why they have taken the other $48 for.

can't return car at 7am to airport. you have to drop it at a hotel in the Center and then get a taxi

can't collect car at airport. you have to call and wait for a shuttle or walk 15 minutes away

not open in the weekends

calls to hotline cost €0.60c/minute

when we arrived our reservation had been changed to a lower class. we were only compensated after mentioning it

took over 1h to get the car despite registering online and doing everything possible in advance to speed it up

worst car rental experience of my life

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

Never trust this company. I have rented many cars from Avis around the world, but Avis Slovakia has been a nightmare. If you make a mistake and pay online to rent a car, do not hesitate to cancel and request a full refund. You might wait for hours and still not receive your car. They also do not refund all your deposits and will try everything, even lying, without hesitation.

Μια πολύ κακή εμπειρία!!!
Φτάσαμε το απόγευμα στς 11/7 στο αεροδρόμιο της Μπρατισλάβα. Προς δυσάρεστη έκπληξή μας το γραφείο τους ήταν κλειστό!!! Είχαν αφήσει δυο αριθμούς τηλεφώνων από έξω, τηλεφωνήσαμε και δεν απαντούσε κανείς. Αναγκαστήκαμε και πήγαμε με ταξί στο ξενοδοχείο στην πόλη.

Την άλλη ημέρα το πρωί της 12/7 καλέσαμε πάλι στα ίδια τηλέφωνα και μας έδωσαν ραντεβού στο αεροδρόμιο, χωρίς να μας δίνουν κάποιες πληροφορίες. Αναγκαστήκαμε και πάλι να πάρουμε ταξί για να πάμε. Εκεί προς νέα μας δυσάρεστη έκπληξη, συναντηθήκαμε με έναν νεαρό ο οποίος αδυνατούσε να μας δώσει και πάλι οποιαδήποτε πληροφορία και μας ζήτησε να τον ακολουθήσουμε στο αυτοκίνητο για να μας πάει στα γραφεία της AVIS εκτός του χώρου του αεροδρομίου!!!

Όταν φτάσαμε βρήκαμε άλλο νεαρό άτομο, που μας άφησε, με αγένεια, να περιμένουμε όρθιοι για να τελειώσει άλλες δουλειές του και στη συνέχεια μας είπε, ότι για να μας δώσει αυτοκίνητο θα πρέπει εκτός την πληρωμή της ενοικίασής του, να δώσουμε επιπλέον πάνω από 1.000€ ως εγγύηση (απόθεμα), ανάλογα με τον τύπο του αυτοκινήτου, παρότι ζητήσαμε πλήρη κάλυψη. Εννοείται δεν δεχτήκαμε και φύγαμε, πληρώνοντας για τρίτη φορά ταξί για να επιστρέψουμε στο ξενοδοχείο στην πόλη και ακυρώνοντας την περιήγησή μας στην ενδοχώρα της Σλοβακίας.

Avoid this company. No office/ booth at the airport. Then, when eventually transported to the office, the nightmare begins. The building is filthy and the representatives are immature amateurs who are downright rude. A badly dressed, gum-chewing young woman demanded a deposit of 900 euros. When I queried this, she and the other kids "working" there started laughing and smirking. Appalling service. I decided to cut my losses and leave. Don't pay a penny to these crooks.

It was supposed to be a simple car rental, but from the moment I arrived at Bratislava Airport, it turned into a nightmare with the company Avis. There was no representative present, so I had to call their hotline for assistance. After waiting, I was taken not to the airport location, but an off-site office with a long queue and only two employees working.

When I politely asked about getting more staff to help during the rush, the rude employee snapped, "Do you see someone else here who could help?"

I finally got my rental car, but the troubles were just beginning. The employee showed me photos of existing scratches and defects, including several on the rear right wheel due to a flat tire.

The next day, I returned the car around 8pm as agreed, but there was no employee at the office. I parked next to a nervous-looking man sitting on another car's hood. Assuming he was a customer waiting too, I went inside and called the hotline.

For five minutes, the man just stared at me through the window. Suddenly, he started pounding on it. He then barged in and confrontationally asked, "Do you want to return the car or not?" When I asked if he worked there, he rudely stated, "No, I want to steal your car." I questioned why he didn't say he was an employee. His unprofessional response? "I'm not obligated to say hello since you didn't either."

The "employee" then claimed there was a new undocumented scratch on that same rear wheel, despite me explaining it was pre-existing. His behavior was confrontational, even threatening to keep charging me rental fees if I didn't sign paperwork acknowledging the supposed damage. Feeling coerced, I reluctantly signed while disputing the charges.

Online reviews revealed this is a pattern - Avis charges customers for pre-existing damages through deceptive means. I reported them to my company and requested termination of their contracts. This kind of fraudulent, unprofessional behavior is unacceptable. What should've been a simple rental turned into a nightmare due to Avis' poor practices.
