I'm a student at an MNPS school currently, NSA to be exact, and never until now have I actually had good experiences and enjoyed school. I have always had some sort of gripe about something. The bathrooms, the teachers, the bullying, the ways bullying situations have been dealt with, THE MOLD?! When I went to Litton, which is a pathetic, sorry excuse for a school on all grounds, there were multiple ceiling tiles in different areas where they had either bulged or completely rotted and then collapsed and made a huge mess on the floor. They had to put a bucket and trash can underneath the two which had collapsed. Also, many of my peers have found that the milk that they serve in the cafeteria at lunch was both chunky AND past the expiration date. I'm almost positive that there are other schools in Nashville that are like this, but wow, are you just asleep at the wheel? I guarantee you, if you ask any of my former classmates/peers who went to Litton what they thought of the school or if they enjoyed it, at least half would say no, or have some sort of complaint. I've also heard things about not closing schools during FUCKING TORNADO WEATHER. There were schools out of power with downed power lines. Really ensuring the safety of your students and staff, just phenomenal job. Anyway. NSA is very LGBTQ+ inclusive, but our school doesn't get the greatest treatment by the district for that. Inversely, I have had the best experiences learning, socializing, and just existing in the environment that I am in at NSA. I didn't feel safe at Litton and even sometimes at Dan Mills. Do better.

P.S. Even my IEP professional in 8th grade seemed to hate me and didn't seem to understand or have patience for me at times. Your job is to help me with my ADHD, not degrade me for it.

Dr. Adrienne Battle refused to close Metro schools today (March 3, 2023) despite the entire county being under a tornado watch and a high wind warning. Multiple metro schools had no power, and were damaged by high winds and downed trees. My children’s school had a huge tree fall in front of it, and live power lines were on the street directly in front of the school. Even the MNPS School Board building were damaged today. It is obvious that Dr. Battle and the school board leadership care more about testing and benchmarks than the safety of children. Shame on you all.

There is still much work for the district to do in first admitting errors and need for improvement in a system in danger of stagnation. Secondly they must be willing themselves to learn, much as they expect their students to. There is much work to be done in regard to student safety at MNPS.

Engaging your community and those who seek to aide your daunting task will proove useful. The current Superintendent and a number of their staff could truly work on communication skills and not resorting to elementary attempts to discredit those who challenge them. Listen to your families & students. Many eyes are watching for your example. Your students always deserve better don't they?

Metro Davidson County Schools has the best hard working people especially the teaching staff anywhere. They believe in educating the whole child where they are. Their dedication to the commitment of equality surpass for all speaks in their action to be the best for the students they serve. They are out in the community securing lunches, activities, mentors, tutoring so that the student never feel a sense of not having due to any reasons. They stand firm and proud. They support respect the administration, and the leadership of Dr. A. Battle. Thank you metro schools, I too am a alumni of this great district, both parents retired educators. ❤️

I am a student of MNPS currently in the 6th grade, and I've always been with metro since my school career beginning in 2017. I love our community and Metro Schools, but I believe there is lots of work to be done, such as solving Facility Issues and Administrative Issues and hopefully expanding SWPBS to All Schools.

One of your drivers hit my wife's car while she was in a drive-thru at a Chick-fil-A. The driver got out of the vehicle and started yelling at my wife blaming her and being intimidating instead of being a grown up and acting as such, and intimidating her instead of admitting to her mistake. Instead, she called in her friends from inside the store and further spreaded her lie that she was innocent in the matter. My wife had to leave because she didn't feel safe in the situation was getting way out of hand. I called security and was on hold for over an hour. Never got an answer. I emailed one of your security officers and never got a response. Raises a lot of concerns. How can you call a security office and be on hold for over an hour and think that is an acceptable way to run a security office. How can you allow someone to drive who is not a responsible adult and represent the city and its education system. How can you not follow up on incidents that are reported to security officers. Interesting.

This place is horrible. I have been down there and have paid fees to have my high school transcripts sent to colleges a few times and they still have not sent them. I literally just got off of the phone with a rep that was rude and was trying to cut me off without getting the full reason of my call. She then transferred me to an automated message which is for Ms Jones. Needless to say i spoke with her this morning and was advised to contact the high school so i did and then they referred me back to the board. This is a headache and if someone from leadership read this please reach out to me.
